Find the Best Tech Talk Show on the Web!

How do you differentiate a good tech radio show from a mediocre one? There are plenty of technology radio podcasts available on the web today, but which one should be getting your attention? Are there ways to tell them apart?

Fortunately, there are a few tricks to find out if one tech radio show is better than another. Usually, it can be made pretty clear just by viewing the tech talk radio broadcasters website. If it looks unprofessional, or does not have very much information on it, chances are the show is not as competent as the next one. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when looking for the best tech radio show…

1. Mind the Hosts. Find out who the “experts” are on the program in question. Look them up, and do some research. Do not just take their word for it. Of course (in their minds) they know what they are talking about. Find out for yourself. Read biographies, find out where they went to school, what sort of tech experience they have. Are these hosts people that you feel are qualified to have a tech radio show? Preferably, each host will have his or her own blog which you can look into.

2. Sponsors. See what companies sponsor the tech radio show. If the sponsors are not reputable, chances are the show will not be. If the sponsors, however, are companies you know and trust, then the show is likely trustworthy as well. Not only will discovering the sponsors help you find out if the show is reputable, but it will also speak to what sorts of topics are likely to come up in conversation. If a show is sponsored by Apple, it is probably more Mac OS based. The opposite will be true for a show sponsored by Microsoft.

3. Social Media. A decent tech radio show will be networked on sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Look at their page, see how many people follow them. Keep in mind, however, more followers does not necessarily mean a better show, but it is good to know how popular a show is, because a show with more listeners and followers has had to gain them somehow.
